A PATH TO HEALING

Faith Counseling Center provides confidential, spiritually-based counseling and pastoral psychotherapy. As an extension of Via de Cristo's faith community, the Center was formed by a concerned group of clergy and laity from various faith backgrounds who recognized a need for quality pastoral care in the Valley.

The mission of Faith Counseling Center is:

wholeness of spirit, body and mind.

Faith Counseling Center services include:

  • Individual, Family and Couple Counseling

    Fees and Insurance
    Faith Counseling Center charges a standard fee for services. Adjustments can be made, however, on the basis of one's personal financial resources and as Center funding allows. The Center also accepts a number of insurance plans. Call for more information:  (480) 951-5343

    The Rev. Dr. Cheryl A. Jones Cumbee, the Executive Director of the Center, is a pastoral psychotherapist, trained in theology and psychology, a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, an Arizona State Certified Professional Counselor, and a trained Labyrinth Facilitator. She has been a professional ally and guide since 1977 to persons seeking healing for a variety of life's stressors. Practicing pastoral psychotherapy in Scottsdale since 1986, she weaves her gifts as a storyteller, story listener and musician into the art of counseling, teaching, leading and enabling others to journey on the path to healing. Dr. Cumbee welcomes the opportunity to lead Faith Counseling Center in living out its mission and vision of service to the community.

    Noel Kilgarriff, Psy.D. is a full-time clinical psychologist/pastoral counselor with training in psychology and theology. In Chicago, IL, where Dr. Kilgarriff completed masters-level training in Spiritual Direction and pastoral counseling and doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, he worked as a licensed counselor and alcohol and drug counselor, in both inpatient and outpatient departments of various hospitals. Dr. Kilgarriff brings experience and skills to Faith Counseling Center, from a rich background in ministry in Europe, Africa and the United States. He brings a unique integration of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural experience to his work with individuals, couples and families.

    As a non-profit pastoral counseling center, support for the Center comes from a combination of fees for services, gifts from individuals, churches and grants.
